BIG NEWS!

I have started a new blog http://shadesofus.wordpress.com. Please go there for our BIG NEWS! (and an explanation as to why I have been somewhat radio silent lately.)
I started the new blog to regain some of the privacy lost on this one. I plan to continue this blog for family and Payton updates, but as a private blog. I plan to go private in one week. If you are interested in continuing to follow, please let me know in the comment section or send me an email and I will get back with you. The new blog will not be private, but I also will not be using our names, or any other personal info.

Partying Payton Style

This is a video of Payton dancing away at a friends house after church. Maybe he will be a musician?

17 Months

It is still hard for me to believe how much my sweet boy is changing! This month Payton explored new words (cookie!) and new signs (mouse). He also experimented with his first finger painting! I am excited to hang his first art work on my fridge. Payton did end up with a quick trip to the doc this week for another double ear infection. He still weighs 20 lbs and has decided to be a bit of a picky eater (grilled cheese and tofu are still his favorites). My favorite thing this month is that Payton has become a love bug. He loves to hug my legs or give us kisses in the morning. He also steals my heart with his prayers at dinner and bedtime. He puts his food or bottle down, clasps his hands and mumbles, then does the sign for "amen." I keep trying to get it on video but he just points at the camera. Sweet Pate, we adore you.

Prayer Request

Please pray for friends of ours who are adopting through the foster care system. Their son was placed them the same week that Payton was placed with us. Today the court will decide wether or not to officially terminate parental rights. I cannot stop thinking about them and what special people they are to lay their hearts on the line for this little boy. Please pray for our friends and their (hopefully forever) little one.
